School News

January has been a busy month for our network of schools—from record participation in the BT Young Scientist Awards and RDS Primary Science Fair to a letter writing campaign to the Minister of Education. Catch up on these stories and more using the links below:

BT Young Scientist Awards & RDS Primary Science Fair

We had students from two of our schools participate in the BT Young Scientist Awards 2018. Zac Reid represented Kishoge Community College and you can read more about his amazing coding project here. While Éilis Pluymers and Fionn Reilly represented Celbridge Community College with their fantastic project ‘Careful Crossings’, a road safety app. As well as coming second in their group, Éilis and Fionn were awarded the EI Electronics Award! We also had a grand total of seven primary schools take part in the RDS Primary Science Fair, submitting projects on a wide variety of issues; from building materials to gender stereotyping. Check out photos from both events here.

A huge congratulations and well done to all of our students and their teachers on all of their hard work!
