Educate Together is delighted to announce Clodagh Farrell as newly-appointed Principal of Dublin 13 Educate Together National School, opening this September.
Clodagh was a teacher in St John Bosco Junior Boys School in Dublin 7 for 16 years before being appointed Principal in 2012. Having spent seven years as a Principal, Clodagh understands how important a strong leadership team is in any school. She is looking forward to the challenge of leading a start-up school, of building a strong, committed team and being an integral part of a school growing from small beginnings into a vibrant community.
Says Clodagh:
‘I believe that Dublin 13 Educate Together National School should be a place where all children can grow and learn under the guidance of teachers who are committed, caring, encouraging, open-minded and fair; where self-discipline is fostered and where good self-esteem is nurtured. I am very excited about this opportunity to work with parents, teachers and the Board of Management to build an inclusive school which is learner focused in its approach.’
Says Gerry McKevitt, school manager, Dublin 13 ETNS:
‘Clodagh has ample experience as a Principal and a natural affinity with the Educate Together ethos, making her the ideal choice for Dublin 13 ETNS. On behalf of the Educate Together network and the school community I would like to warmly welcome her and wish her and the school all the best on the exciting journey that lies ahead.’
Dublin 13 ETNS opens as a result of an online survey run by the Department of Education and Skills that established Educate Together as the preferred patron of families in the area. The school will open in open in temporary accommodation, subject to planning permission, in Belmayne. The school is accepting names for its waiting list for Junior Infants starting school in 2019.
