Our story

The Educate Together Alumni Network is dedicated to fostering a meaningful connection between Educate Together and its alumni. Our mission is to create a vibrant and supportive community that celebrates the achievements of our alumni, encourages continuous engagement, and provides opportunities for alumni to give back, mentor, and stay connected with the next generation of Educate Together students.

We believe that the values of equality, respect, and inclusivity that guided your time at Educate Together continue to resonate in your lives and careers. Our Alumni Network is committed to upholding these principles as we build a network that not only honours the past but also contributes to the future.

History

Educate Together was founded in the 1970s by a group of visionary parents and educators who sought to create a new model of education in Ireland—one that was inclusive, child-centred, and free from religious influence. The first Educate Together school opened its doors in 1978, embodying the core principles of equality, respect, and democratic participation.

Over the decades, Educate Together has grown to become a national network of 118 schools, each committed to providing a unique educational experience that empowers students to think critically, act responsibly, and engage with the world around them. Our schools have nurtured countless individuals who have gone on to make significant contributions in various fields, both in Ireland and abroad.

The Educate Together Alumni Network was established to reconnect with those who have been part of this journey—whether as students, parents, founders, or supporters. We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our alumni and to continue building the Educate Together community through this programme.
