We are very pleased that the building project at Ballymakenny Road, Drogheda has now received full planning permission and the building work has gone to tender. Major work on the site is planned to commence in the new year with a modern purpose built school building completed by the end of the 2014/15 school year. On that basis, students will commence in the new building for the school year starting September 2015.
For the year starting September 2014, Ballymakenny College will be based in temporary accommodation in Aston Village Educate Together National School located off the Termonfeckin Road in Drogheda.
We are delighted to have secured high quality temporary accommodation in the top floor of Aston Village ETNS. This accommodation is being purpose designed with the full first year allocation of second-level students in mind. Specialist classrooms are being provided including a science laboratory, art room, home economics kitchen, technology room and general classrooms, alongside existing sporting facilities and separate school entrance.
During this period, students will engage with the full curriculum as planned for First Years. We will contact parents shortly with letters of offer. Please note that we are only accepting students who are currently in 6thclass in primary school.
