The opening of a much needed additional Primary School in North Kildare will take a step closer this Saturday, 16th October as the proposed Clane-Prosperous Educate Together National School hosts their Pre Enrolment event in the Westgrove Hotel, Clane.
The move to establish a new Educate Together National School in the Clane-Prosperous area has been welcomed and supported by a number of public representatives who attended the recent Public Information Evening which was hosted by Educate Together including Emmet Stagg TD (Labour), Cllr Pádraig McEvoy (Ind), Cllr Brendan Weld (Fine Gael) and Bernard Durkin TD (Fine Gael).
The Department of Education and Skills has identified Clane-Prosperous as one of the areas that will require a new school in the near future, and it is hoped that the Department will make an announcement on this before Christmas. It is hoped that the children that pre enrol for Clane-Prosperous Educate Together may be offered places in the new school as early as 2011, if the application is granted by the Department of Education and Skills.
Educate Together schools operate on a ‘first come, first served’ admissions policy which means that to enrol a child parents only need to fill in a simple form and places are offered based on the order in which they are received.
Pre-enrolment forms can be completed in the Westport Suite at the Westgrove Hotel this Saturday, 16th October, from 11 am until 1pm, or can be obtained online from this Saturday by visiting www.cpetns.ie
