Educate Together is very saddened to hear of the untimely and tragic death of Jill Amante. Jill was a student in Ballymakenny College, and prior to that in Aston Village ETNS. On behalf of the whole Educate Together community we offer our deepest sympathies and condolences to Jill’s family, and to the staff and students of both schools, at this very sad time.

In a statement to media, Alan Mynes, the principal of Ballymakenny College, said:
“This is a terrible tragedy for the family, our school and our community. We are deeply saddened by this devastating news. Jill was a bright, funny and popular student in second year. She made a tremendous contribution to Ballymakenny College life in her short time. She was always a polite and outgoing student and will be missed by all staff and students. Our thoughts are with her family and the school community sends them its sincerest sympathy and support. They are foremost in our thoughts today.”
