An Information Meeting on Hansfield Educate Together Secondary School takes place on Thursday 13th June at 7pm in Ongar Community Centre, Ongar Village, Dublin 15.
The purpose of the meeting is to provide parents and the wider community with information about this brand new post-primary school, which is set to open its doors in September 2014.
Speaking ahead of the meeting, school manager Jarlath Munnelly said that the meeting will be of interest to the whole community.
“This meeting will give people lots of information about the new post-primary school opening in Hansfield in September 2014. The school, under the patronage of Educate Together, will be one of the first Educate Together second-level schools in Ireland, so it’s a very exciting time”
The vision for Hansfield Educate Together Secondary School is to create a vibrant school community founded on Educate Together’s values of equality, human rights and active citizenship. The school will have the individual learner at its core and will embrace innovative approaches to teaching and learning to enhance the learning experience for all students.
Much work is taking place to ensure that the school is equipped and ready for its first intake of students in September 2014. An interim Board of Management has been appointed and enrolment for first year students in 2014/15 is now open. Planning for the construction of the school is also at an advanced stage. The school has been designed by TODD Architects and will be located in the Hansfield area in Dublin 15, as part of a school campus that includes Blanchardstown West Educate Together National School, which is currently in temporary accommodation.
