Educate Together has appointed Saoirse McLave as the national office’s new Administration Assistant and has appointed Vera Shanahan as the organisation’s new Education Officer (Primary).
Prior to her appointment to the Educate Together national office, Saoirse McLave worked with Technological University Dublin (TU Dublin) Students Union and Maynooth University. She holds a BA in English and History, and an MA in European History, both obtained at Maynooth University. Saoirse has a keen interest education, and is looking forward to working with Educate Together to help deliver education based on equality, democracy, and the celebration of difference and diversity in students and schools.
Vera joined the Educate Together school network in 2013, spending three years teaching in Dalkey School Project. She then moved to Malahide/Portmarnock ETNS where she was appointed Assistant Principal in 2018. Vera is passionate about Ethical Education and has worked as a Learn Together advisor, facilitated summer courses and contributed to the redevelopment of the Learn Together curriculum as part of the Learn Together Working Group. Vera is delighted to be stepping into this role and is looking forward to working with principals, teachers and school communities to support the delivery of the Learn Together curriculum.
