In conjunction with the Department of Education, Educate Together offers training and support to members of our Boards of Management, supporting schools to develop and maintain high standards in leadership and governance. The national office provides training using a mixture of in person/face-to-face events, as well as online sessions, usually delivered via Zoom. Please note as of January 2024, primary school board of management training modules are undergoing re-development. Dates will be added as and when redeveloped modules are made available. Until then the training below is on offer:

All Board members are encouraged to avail of training. Please note some sessions are in-person in your local area and some are delivered online via Zoom. All sessions last approximately 90 minutes unless otherwise stated. Please arrive 10 minutes before in-person sessions. Registration will close in advance of all sessions.

Principal and Chairperson Training
With Deirdre O’Donoghue & Alison O’Neil. A practical module covering the roles of principal and chairperson on a primary school Board of Management with lot of tips for working together.
Suitable for both new and experienced principals/acting principals and chairpersons who have not yet completed this training. Fantastic opportunity to make connections with others.
Includes a light lunch.
