Vera Shanahan, Primary Education Officer
It’s been one year since the formal introduction of the Learn Together curriculum for Educate Together primary schools. The initial response to the curriculum has been overwhelmingly positive, however as with all curricular changes, Educate Together recognises that sustained support is required to embed new aspects into classroom practice. To that end, we are offering a number of tailored supports for schools:
School Visits
Please contact Vera at vera.shanahan@educatetogether.ie if you are interested in organising a CPD hour or session on the Learn Together curriculum for staff members. Previous sessions have covered a general introduction to the curriculum, methodologies for ethical education, teaching controversial issues, and specific inputs on individual strands.
Learn Together Resource Bank
The Learn Together Resource Bank has been fully redeveloped with resources for teaching every theme and element of the curriculum. Staff members can access the Learn Together Resource Bank here.
Newsletter
Please encourage new staff members to sign up for our Primary Teachers’ Newsletter for updates on CPD opportunities, resource recommendations and much more.
Communities of Practice
Educate Together will continue to run online and in-person regional Community of Practice meetings to facilitate sharing of good practice from across the network. Contact Vera at vera.shanahan@educatetogether.ie if you are interested in joining a Community of Practice.
