Get Ready! Educate Together’s Second-level Student Events – Save the Dates

Susana Núñez, Second-level Education Officer, Educate Together

Educate Together is thrilled to announce the return of its annual Student Event for second-level schools, taking place across two locations again this year. The event will be hosted at Limerick Educate Together Secondary School on Wednesday, 26th March, and at Kishoge Community College on Thursday, 10th April— also a particularly special occasion for Kishoge CC as they also celebrate its 10th anniversary!

Building on the success of previous years, this year’s theme remains “Global Empathy and Solidarity in Action,” with a particular focus on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 16 and 17—promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions, as well as strengthening global partnerships for sustainable development.

A huge shoutout to our Student Advisory Group, who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to design and develop workshops that they will deliver to first- and second-year students on the day. Their leadership and creativity are what make this event so special. The advisory group is made up of students from Drogheda ETSS, ETSS Wicklow, Firhouse ETSS, Galway ETSS, Hansfield ETSS, Kishoge CC, Limerick ETSS, and Malahide Portmarnock ETSS. A big thank you also to the teachers supporting them!

The event will also feature a Global Citizenship Fair, where students can engage with NGOs and organisations working towards positive social change. These events offer a fantastic opportunity for students to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another while deepening their understanding of the SDGs and global justice issues.

This event is the key feature of Educate Together’s Global Citizenship Education Programme for second level, providing students with an important platform to engage with global issues, collaborate with their peers, and take meaningful action.

A special thank you to WorldWise Global Schools for their invaluable support in making this event possible.

Mark the dates in your calendar and stay tuned for more details – it’s going to be an inspiring event!
